In the turbulent landscape of post-Soviet Kazakhstan in 1993, collective farms are disbanded, and properties are set to be privatized. No one has faith that the property will be divided fairly; the leaders have long exceeded their official powers, dividing the sheep among themselves. This leaves the shepherd, who simply wants his fair share, in a bind. A resilient farmer with a humble dream of securing his rightful portion faces personal struggles. Should he go along with the corruption or stand up for what’s right?
